Each Sunday our goal is to share a piece of gold with you. Some small piece of information that helps you to have a better week and achieve a better outcome.  

Some of the best parts of building a business is hearing about the positive impact you have on people’s lives. These stories range from the products or services you provide, or a new house for someone on the Team, to vacations, to having some money in the bank to deal with an unexpected household expense.  

As a Leader, when you build a culture of giving, serving, and helping others – it becomes a behavior that is carried out by others in your organization.  

I can tell you without hesitation that I have fallen down. It may have been that I didn’t know what to do, I didn’t know how to solve a problem, or I simply was too close to the issue to see a reasonable next step. In those moments, someone came along and helped.  

At any given time, we all have some level of shit going on in our lives. Encourage your Team to pay attention to those around them and exemplify this behavior. Be the helping hand that uses the positive momentum in our lives to pick someone up when they have a stumble.  

Some organizations do this through community volunteerism while others focus more on employee assistance programs – or both.  

I believe as we realize success, even baby steps, we have a responsibility to lift others up so that as a society, we are all improving. The old saying of “Rising tides lift all ships” comes to mind, but only if we are intentional.  

Be a rising tide.
